The exam adjusts to you by selecting a question of the right difficulty level.
Each question in our database belongs to one of five difficulty levels, ranging from beginner level to advanced (roughly corresponds to JLPT's N5 and N1 respectively). Every section starts with a relatively easy question (N4 level). The following question depends on whether you answered the previous one correctly or not. This way the exam stays challenging but not too difficult, resulting in a more accurate score.

Your Exam Score
Calculating the score
The algorithm calculating your final score takes into account the difficulty of the questions you answered correctly. Each of the five difficulty levels is worth 20% of the maximum score.
Example #1:
Total score: 80%
An examinee keeps answering correctly except questions from the most difficult
level. In this case the examinee will get around 80% of the points available.
To score more they would need to get the hardest questions right.
Example #2:
Total score: 10%
An examinee started studying Japanese recently and is at the beginner level.
They answer correctly around half of the easiest questions, but the more
difficult questions are too hard. In this case the examinee will get around
10% of the maximum score (i.e. the half of 20% of points available for the
category of the easiest questions).

After you finish the exam, you can freely review all questions you could not answer right. Your answer and the correct one are highlighted. This way you can learn from your mistakes and identify areas for improvement.
Typically, exams, including JLPT, do not allow reviewing questions once you complete the exam. Shiken24 is different. We believe that reviewing your answers is an important part of the learning process.
